The Virgilio Galvis Ophthalmology Center has taken all the measures established in the official biosafety protocols and biosanitary standards to reduce the risk of contagion of COVID-19.
The vast majority of office staff have been in strict isolation and therefore the possibility of having infection is very low. They all follow strict rules to monitor symptoms in themselves and their close contacts and avoid crowds.

Before you make your appointment, we will carry out the following three steps to resolve your problem and avoid the in-person consultation.
1. Home Examination: Perform a self-examination to determine your condition before contacting us.
2. Scheduling: If you present the self-examination, depending on your condition, request your appointment by this means or through our service lines.

STEP 1: HOME EXAM
It is very important that you know how to define the symptom you are presenting. Think and analyze carefully before calling the doctor. Discuss with your family to be more precise on dates and times. Write down if necessary, so you can make a coherent description.
Before continuing, it is necessary to answer some basic questions to find out if you have previous illnesses or surgeries.

Symptoms that make you suspect that you may be infected with COVID-19: sore throat, fever, difficulty breathing, loss of smell, general malaise, nasal congestion, diarrhea, conjunctivitis or notice that your sense of smell is failing. (Please test yourself by smelling coffee, peanuts, apple, coconut, lemon, strawberry and if you cannot distinguish, and this is new, consider that you may be positive for COVID-19), have you had contact or lived with someone who has these symptoms or have had contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
