SURFACE TREATMENT ROOM
Meibomian Gland Expression
When the meibomian glands become plugged, inflammation occurs at the edge of the eyelids (posterior blepharitis) and a secondary alteration in the lubrication of the eyes. Cleaning of the edge of the eyelids plus drainage or expression of the meibomian glands consists of special cleaning of the edge of the eyelids, removing debris and remnants that block the exit orifices of the glands, followed by mechanical expression of the meibomian glands. of the eyelids, to extract the solidified secretion that clogs them, and allow them to produce normal oil again. This improves their functioning as vital components within the lubrication of the ocular surface. Three cleaning and drainage sessions are carried out, one every three weeks.
